Red Oak concludes its training program on self-exploration and creative writing for the blind and visually impaired
Red Oak led a 3-month training program on self-exploration and creative writing for the blind and visually impaired at the Lebanese School for the Blind and Deaf (LSBD).
The training aimed to build the capacities of the visually handicapped by providing them with a means of self-expression. Through the process of thinking, writing and expressing ideas and emotions, they gained positive self-esteem, developed interpersonal communication skills, and became self-advocates. They had opportunities to be included in discussions, to develop goals, dreams and aspirations. They expressed themselves freely and had their voices heard.
The program included concept development that are fundamental for individuals to make sense of their world.
